Genex Tower

Brief Overview:  The Western City Gate, or Genex Tower is a 36 storey tower in Belgrade, Serbia.  It was designed by architect Mihajlo Mitrovic to resemble a gate welcoming people to the city, and completed in 1979.  Throughout both the design and construction process the project was plagued by controversy and disputes- but despite this the strong willed Mitrovic kept true to his vision and was rewarded in 2021 when Genex Tower was declared a cultural monument.  It was identified as an 'urban lighthouse'- an iconic motif for the city.  The building itself is comprised of two towers, one 30 storeys, the other 26 storeys which are connected at the 26th floor via a bridge.  The smaller tower is residential and the taller one  intended for commercial use.

Our concrete sculptures are individually hand cast in solid concrete. This means that each piece will have distinctive markings and minor blemishes due to air bubbles in the concrete. This is a natural part of the material and will mean that no two pieces are ever exactly the same.
