Designed by Chamberlin, Powell and Bon, it rises 43 storeys above the City with its sharp verticals and deeply set balconies. Along with Cromwell and Lauderdale, it helped make the Barbican one of the most ambitious housing projects in Europe.

This model captures its striking silhouette. The repeating rhythm of bays, the bold vertical lines, and the sense of scale were carefully adjusted to keep the clarity of its outline. I wanted the cast to hold the presence that makes the tower so distinctive in the London skyline.

A small cast of one of the Barbican’s great concrete towers.

Features
• Solid cast concrete, individually hand-poured
• 10cm high, 4cm wide, 4cm deep (approx)
• Laser-etched cork base with building name
• Comes gift-boxed for the perfect concrete gift
• Designed, modelled, and finished in the UK

Made for those who lived there, studied its architecture, or admired its place in the City.
This model is a keepsake of a tower that embodies both the ambition and the character of the Barbican Estate.

15% off when you order two or more models

EU customers: please order via my Etsy shop due to customs regulations

Building Information

Location: Barbican Estate, City of London, UK
Architect: Chamberlin, Powell and Bon
Completed: 1976
Status: Grade II listed, residential tower

Brief Overview:
Shakespeare Tower is one of three 43-storey residential towers in the Barbican Estate, designed by Chamberlin, Powell and Bon as part of the City of London’s post-war renewal.
