Centre City Tower, Birmingham

Most people walk past it every day without knowing its name. The Centre City Tower miniature concrete model gives Richard Seifert & Partners' 1975 tower near New Street station the attention it deserves. Its strong vertical lines and dark concrete make it one of the most uncompromising buildings of Birmingham Brutalism. This concrete model of Centre City Tower is 8cm tall, a compact miniature concrete building for a desk, shelf or windowsill. It's for people who've worked inside it, daily commuters, architects and collectors building a Birmingham skyline piece by piece, and it's a considered Brutalist architecture gift for a local. Pair it with Alpha Tower for two Seifert towers side by side. Each one is poured by hand, so its weight is real and its surface can't be repeated.
