Glasgow College of Building & Printing
Location: Glasgow, Scotland
Architect: Peter Williams of Wylie, Shanks & Partners
Completed: 1964
Status: Category B Listed
Brief Overview: Glasgow College of Building & Printing was one of the first commercial high-rise structures in Glasgow. It was designed by architect Peter Williams of Wylie, Shanks & Partners- with the sculptural forms at the top said to be influenced heavily by Le Corbusier. From 2014- for the Commonwealth Games- a large section of the southern elevation has featured the iconic 'People Make Glasgow' wrap. Following the construction of a new City Campus the building became unused- and several plans for redevelopment of the Category B Listed building have been announced since 2019- including offices and hotels.
