Les Choux de Créteil, Créteil

If you've ever seen the cabbages of Créteil, this Les Choux de Créteil miniature concrete model will make you smile. Gérard Grandval's ten residential towers were built between 1969 and 1974, and their balconies curl outwards like petals, which is how the nickname stuck. They're now heritage-protected and among the most sculptural social housing in European Brutalism. This concrete model of Les Choux de Créteil keeps those curling forms legible at 8cm, a playful piece of concrete art for a desk or shelf. It's made for Parisians, French architecture fans and anyone who enjoys Brutalist architecture with a sense of humour, and it's a charming gift for a Francophile architect. Each miniature concrete building is hand-cast in solid concrete, with its own texture.
