Brief Overview:
The Renold Building was an early and innovative teaching block for UMIST, designed around the concept of flexible learning rather than traditional lecture halls. Renold Building, Manchester

If you studied at UMIST, the Renold Building miniature concrete model is a piece of your university. W. Arthur Gibbon designed the 1962 teaching block with Cruickshank & Seward, swapping traditional lecture halls for flexible learning spaces. Its exposed concrete frame and crisp geometry made it one of the most forward-thinking campus buildings of its time, and it's now Grade II listed. This concrete model of the Renold Building captures that clean, rational massing at 6.5cm, ready for a desk or shelf. It's made for UMIST and University of Manchester alumni, engineers, architects, and fans of Manchester modernism and Brutalist architecture. It's a graduation or reunion gift with a real link to place. Each piece is hand-cast in solid concrete, heavy and unique.
