Apollo Pavilion, Peterlee

The Apollo Pavilion miniature concrete model is made for people who love the place where art and architecture meet. Victor Pasmore's 1969 walk-through sculpture on Peterlee's Sunny Blunts estate spans a small lake in interlocking planes of reinforced concrete, like a modernist painting made solid. It was named after that year's moon landings. It survived decades of calls for demolition, was restored in 2009 and is now Grade II* listed. This concrete model of the Apollo Pavilion keeps its cantilevers and layered planes at 8cm, a piece of concrete art for a desk, shelf or studio table. It's for people from Peterlee and County Durham, artists, architects and fans of Brutalist architecture. It's as much a gift for a painter as for a designer. Each piece is hand-cast, so its texture is unique.
