Brief Overview: New Street Signal Box has kept the region's network moving for decades- originally housing the Westpac Geographical Interlocking & Signalmen's push-button control panel (the largest relay interlocking in the world when installed) and also the Railway Telephone Exchange. However, all operations have been moved to state of the art West Midlands Signalling Centre in Saltley, with the Signal Box set for a phased decommissioning.
