Some buildings feel as much a part of a place as the streets around them. The Bonny Street Police Headquarters in Blackpool stood for nearly half a century, its bold Brutalist form a familiar presence near the seafront. Completed in the early 1970s, its stepped massing and raw concrete gave it a solid, authoritative presence for whether you were passing by or being brought inside.
This model captures that unmistakable profile. The orthogonal volumes, recessed windows, and tiered surrounding needed to translate clearly at a smaller scale. I worked to preserve the weight and stance that made the building such a local landmark.

Brief Overview:
The Bonny Street Police Headquarters served as the main police station for Blackpool for almost fifty years. Its Brutalist design featured stepped concrete forms and recessed fenestration, reflecting the architectural trends of the time. Demolished in 2025 as part of a wider redevelopment scheme, it remains a point of local memory and identity.

My concrete sculptures are individually hand cast in solid concrete. This means that each piece will have distinctive markings and minor blemishes due to air bubbles in the concrete. This is a natural part of the material and will mean that no two pieces are ever exactly the same.

My concete models are all made using a fine grain quickset cement with a polymer additive. This gives a good balance between strength and detail casting. However concrete is a brittle material so the models are delicate and can break with impact.

Concrete is a brittle material so these models are delicate objects. They can be chipped or cracked easily and need to be protected from knocks or falls.
My concrete mix is also not waterproof so you should protected your model from damp and moisture.
Extreme changes in temperature will cause expansion and contraction inside the concrete model potentially leading to cracks forming. Keep your model out of direct sunlight and away from heating systems.
