Model 059: Alexandra and Ainsworth Estate – Miniature Concrete Model
Hand-cast in fine concrete. Shaped by memory.
Some places imprint themselves onto you.
The Alexandra and Ainsworth Estate is one of them. With its long terraces, rhythmic shadows, and bold geometry, it stands as a rare example of architecture that changes how we experience space, light, and community. Designed by Neave Brown and completed in 1978, it remains a landmark of socially driven design and human-scale modernism.
I waited years before making this model. Not out of reluctance—but out of respect.
Capturing the stepped rhythm, the subtle shifts in form, the softness behind the structure—all of it took time. I went through countless iterations until the scale and clarity felt right. Now it’s ready.
A small piece of the whole. A concrete reminder of a building that means something.
Features
• Solid cast concrete, individually hand-poured
• 10cm long, 5cm wide, 2.5cm high

Made to feel personal, even if you’ve only passed by the building once, or as a gift for someone who sees what others might overlook.
Whether it’s a connection to London, to Brutalism, or simply to beautiful design, this piece is made to hold that feeling. It works as a unique centrepiece on a shelf or desk. As a reminder that architecture is more than a background—it's part of who we are.

Our concrete sculptures are individually hand cast in solid concrete. This means that each piece will have distinctive markings and minor blemishes due to air bubbles in the concrete. This is a natural part of the material and will mean that no two pieces are ever exactly the same.

Materials
Materials
My concete models are all made using a fine grain quickset cement with a polymer additive. This gives a good balance between strength and detail casting. However concrete is a brittle material so the models are delicate and can break with impact.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
Concrete is a brittle material so these models are delicate objects. They can be chipped or cracked easily and need to be protected from knocks or falls.
My concrete mix is also not waterproof so you should protected your model from damp and moisture.
Extreme changes in temperature will cause expansion and contraction inside the concrete model potentially leading to cracks forming. Keep your model out of direct sunlight and away from heating systems.
