Trinity Square Car Park

Location: Gateshead, England
Architect: Rodney Gordon of Owen Luder Partnership
Completed: 196;
Status: Demolished
Brief Overview: Trinity Square Car Park was designed by Rodney Gordon of the Owen Ludar Partnership.  The complex itself was much more than the car park- featuring shops, restaurants and community rooms.  There was even a café at the very top of the car park- but this was never actually occupied or opened.  Trinity Square was modelled on the Tricorn Centre in Portsmouth- both by Owen Luder Partnership, and both now demolished- but both such ambitious expansive projects.  Nearby shopping centre and transport hub developments were said to have undermined the success of Trinity Square, which was closed in early 2008.  Demolition began in late 2008, and the Car Park finally went in 2010.  It is probably most well known for and referred to as the "Get Carter car park" after its prominent role in the 1971 film Get Carter as the location of several key scenes, as well as often being seen in the distance.

Our concrete sculptures are individually hand cast in solid concrete. This means that each piece will have distinctive markings and minor blemishes due to air bubbles in the concrete. This is a natural part of the material and will mean that no two pieces are ever exactly the same.
