Some buildings leave thier mark on the skyline and on the people who live near them.
Arlington House in Margate is one of those. Towering above the seafront with its sharp vertical fins and unmistakable Brutalist profile, it’s part landmark, part local myth. Built in the 1960s as part of a wider regeneration plan, it became one of the most recognisable concrete towers in Britain.
I’d been circling this one for a while. There’s something deeply sculptural about the form, the rising lines, the alternating bands of texture and shadow. Getting that detail right in a miniature scale meant focusing on rhythm and balance. It needed to feel solid, but alive.
Now it’s here. A cast of the tower by the sea, made to keep close.

Brief Overview:
Arlington House is a 18-storey Brutalist tower block facing the sea in Margate. Originally part of an ambitious regeneration scheme, it features striking vertical fins and bold concrete massing. Though plans changed and parts of the surrounding complex were lost, the tower remains a local landmark, weathered, resilient, and unmistakably modernist.

My concrete sculptures are individually hand cast in solid concrete. This means that each piece will have distinctive markings and minor blemishes due to air bubbles in the concrete. This is a natural part of the material and will mean that no two pieces are ever exactly the same.

My concete models are all made using a fine grain quickset cement with a polymer additive. This gives a good balance between strength and detail casting. However concrete is a brittle material so the models are delicate and can break with impact.

Care Instructions
Concrete is a brittle material so these models are delicate objects. They can be chipped or cracked easily and need to be protected from knocks or falls.
My concrete mix is also not waterproof so you should protected your model from damp and moisture.
Extreme changes in temperature will cause expansion and contraction inside the concrete model potentially leading to cracks forming. Keep your model out of direct sunlight and away from heating systems.
