Model 045_Centre City Tower – Miniature Concrete Model
Hand-cast in fine concrete. Shaped by memory.
Some towers anchor a city by the sheer weight of their presence. Centre City Tower in Birmingham, completed in 1975, is one of Richard Seifert’s major contributions to the city skyline. Rising 76 metres, its dark concrete façade and gridded windows gave it a stark authority among the surrounding post-war developments. It remains a familiar marker in the city centre, part of Birmingham’s modernist story.
This model captures its clear vertical rhythm. The repeating grid, the deep window recesses, and the balanced proportions had to be carefully scaled down. I worked to ensure the cast carried the same clarity and strength that define the real tower.
A small cast of one of Birmingham’s Seifert landmarks.

Brief Overview:
Centre City Tower is a 21-storey office block designed by Richard Seifert during Birmingham’s post-war redevelopment. Its striking vertical lines and dark concrete cladding made it a strong and uncompromising addition to the skyline. Standing close to New Street Station, it remains a key piece of the city’s modernist fabric.

ALL EU ORDERS processed through our Etsy Store HERE
My concrete sculptures are individually hand cast in solid concrete. This means that each piece will have distinctive markings and minor blemishes due to air bubbles in the concrete. This is a natural part of the material and will mean that no two pieces are ever exactly the same.

Materials
My concete models are all made using a fine grain quickset cement with a polymer additive. This gives a good balance between strength and detail casting. However concrete is a brittle material so the models are delicate and can break with impact.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
Concrete is a brittle material so these models are delicate objects. They can be chipped or cracked easily and need to be protected from knocks or falls.
My concrete mix is also not waterproof so you should protected your model from damp and moisture.
Extreme changes in temperature will cause expansion and contraction inside the concrete model potentially leading to cracks forming. Keep your model out of direct sunlight and away from heating systems.
