Long Lines Building, New York

If you've stood at the foot of 33 Thomas Street and wondered what goes on inside, the Long Lines Building miniature concrete model is for you. John Carl Warnecke & Associates designed the windowless telephone exchange for AT&T in 1974, with walls built to withstand catastrophic events. Its blank, monolithic presence has inspired admiration, conspiracy theories and more than a few thriller plots. This concrete model of the Long Lines Building keeps that sheer façade and its projecting vents at 9cm, a mysterious concrete sculpture for a desk or shelf. It's made for New Yorkers, engineers, fans of American Brutalism and anyone who loves Brutalist architecture with secrets, and it's a gift that starts conversations. Each one is hand-cast in solid concrete.
