George Wallis Building, Wolverhampton

If you studied art or design in Wolverhampton, the George Wallis Building miniature concrete model is a piece of your own history. Diamond, Redfern & Partners completed the School of Art in 1970. Its exposed concrete frame and bold geometry make it the clearest piece of Brutalist architecture in the city. This concrete model of the George Wallis Building captures that chunky massing at 8cm, a small concrete sculpture for a studio table, desk or shelf. It's made for Wolverhampton art school alumni, tutors and technicians, Black Country locals and fans of West Midlands Brutalism. As a graduation gift for an art or design student, it's hard to beat. Each piece is hand-cast in solid concrete, so its weight is real and its surface is one of a kind.
