Collection: Barbican Towers: Shakespeare, Cromwell & Lauderdale Models

The three residential towers of the Barbican EstateShakespeare Tower, Cromwell Tower, and Lauderdale Tower — are among the most distinctive high-rises in London. Designed by Chamberlin, Powell and Bon and completed in the 1970s, these towers were part of the Barbican’s ambitious plan to combine housing, arts, and culture into a single urban complex.

Rising above the estate’s terraces and gardens, the towers are instantly recognisable for their bold verticality, rhythmic concrete façades, and deeply textured balconies. They remain Grade II-listed icons of postwar architecture and some of the most celebrated examples of British Brutalism.

This collection features my handmade concrete models of the Barbican Towers, cast in miniature to capture their sharp silhouettes and repeating structural patterns. Whether you choose one tower or collect the full set, these pieces are designed as sculptural tributes to some of London’s most iconic Brutalist buildings.
